Teacher policies to support the use of digital resources in the classroom
| ▣︎ In September 2025, the OECD published Teacher policies to support the use of digital resources in the classroom. The report finds that most countries are implementing national-level initiatives to support teachers in using digital resources effectively, with some even introducing initiatives for AI-based education. A number of countries, including Korea, have incorporated digital competence into their teachers’ professional standards or role descriptions; however, few have reflected this in their teacher evaluation frameworks. Ensuring collaborative time among teachers to improve their capacity to use digital resources is essential for acquiring new technological skills. In particular, according to TALIS 2024 results, teachers in Korea face heavier administrative and repetitive workloads compared to those in other countries, making it important to leverage technology to reduce such burdens. Lastly, the report recommends that schools expand technical support staff. |
